Description

I love a good smoothie recipe and incorporating some new ingredients is always fun! This smoothie has subtle hints of chocolate, creamy tahini and a burst of blueberry flavor. Everything blends so well together with natural sweetness of dates.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4-5 large medjool dates, pitted and soaked in warm water for 5 minutes
  • 2 Tablespoons ground tahini, be sure it's smooth and mixed well
  • 1 cup milk, any type of milk
  • 1/3 cup yogurt, plain or greek - not flavored or sweetened
  • 1/3 cup frozen riced cauliflower
  • 1/2 cup frozen wild blueberries, or any frozen blueberries
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom or cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons ground cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 3-4 ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Place all your ingredients into a blender and blend until fully smooth. Be sure to remove the pits from your dates.
  2. Pour and enjoy!
  3. This makes about 16 ounces - 2 small smoothies or one large

Notes

  • If you don't have riced cauliflower, feel free to add more blueberries or another frozen fruit of your choice
  • You can sub another nut butter if you don't have tahini
  • Medjool dates are my preference but any dates will work
  • Add maple syrup or honey to sweeten to your taste if needed
